Please Take Off Your Shoes
From time to time you see homes where the homeowner is requesting everyone to take their shoes off when you are in their home.
Sometimes it's because the homeowner doesn't want dirt, water and dirty snow left on their nice wood floors and carpeting. I can't blame them.
Just a few weeks ago, my buyer and I went to an open house and the listing agent asked us to take off our shoes. We had absolutely no problem with it. With the Winter we have had, who can blame them? The homeowner's carpeting and true wood floors were gorgeous!
As we were putting our shoes on, a couple came in and when they were asked to take of their shoes, they weren't happy. When the listing agent left the room, you should have heard how annoyed they were. So what, who cares? But, the shoes they had on weren't exactly the easiest to take on and off. They were work boots that had a lot of laces.

Also, with some cultures, taking your shoes off is customary in their home. Respect it because if it were your home, you would want others to respect your culture and your home.
